  • Donation of shoreline property by Max Clausen and family to the Nature Conservancy (240 acres) 
  • Sisters' Prairie Wetland Reserve Program Site (190 acres-above left)
  • Miller Marsh Wetland Reserve Program Site (110 acre-above right) 
  • Farmed Wetland CRP Program (115 acres)
  • Terrace Construction (2,000 feet)
  • Nutrient and Pest Management (1,400 acres)

    Developed Areas:
      
  • Storm Water Filtration Systems (24 installed - shown above)
  • Rain Gardens (6 installed, shown above)
  • Porous Pavement (2 installed)
  • Vacuum Street Sweeper (New in 2006)
  • Storm Drain Stenciling "Don't Dump - Drains to Lake"
  • Partnership with Opportunity Village to Maintain Storm Drain Inlets
  • Storm Water Utility Fee in Clear Lake ($1.50 monthly fee to pay for storm water improvements)

    Clear Lake and Ventura Marsh:
      
  • Clear Lake Dredging via IDNR/local governments/private partnership (Began in 2008, shown above)
  • Ventura Marsh Restoration via IDNR/Corps of Engineers partnership (scheduled to begin in 2009)
  • Lakeshore Stabilization (1,500 ft installed to date - shown above)
  • Carp and Zebra Mussel Investigation

    Lake Dredging Funding Commitments: 
  • $9,500,000 from Iowa Department of Natural Resources
  • $2,000,000 from City of Clear Lake
  • $1,000,000 from Cerro Gordo County
  • $1,000,000+ in private donations
  • $200,000 from City of Ventura
  • TOTAL: $13,700,000
